We humans are still the best pattern recognisers, so all software that "attempts" to convert mp3 to midi does so with serious limitations.īut, it is funny to see your best mp3 song come out of a midi file.Įspecialy when the mp3 file is not just instrumental :) The current status of pattern recognition is still not perfect. When you convert a midi to mp3, you basicly have an inctructions manual on what to play, when you attempt to convert an mp3 to midi, you start out with a sound wave, which as to be analised to determine what instrument resembles the closest to what is being played (and there can be lots of instruments being played at once on an mp3) so this basicly resumes to software with pattern recognition.
